Monticristi® was displayed aboard the “Buque Escuela Guayas” – roughly translated as the Guayas School Ship Representing the “Finest Toquilla Straw Hats in the world”. The ship traveled for 294 days, stopping at 23 international ports in 23 countries, before returning to the port of Guayaquil, Ecuador in February 2016. The port in which a Monticristi® got onboard, on the ship’s voyage, was Port 86 in New York City at the ship’s “Intrepid museum”, which took place from the 8th to the 11th of June 201. Buque Escuela Guayas Ship picked up a Monticristi® at this port in New York,New York and then placed in the museum of the ship and be part of the world tour. The ship’s first stop was in Panama going to La Habana Cuba, then going to New York City. It continued its tour to, Belfast Ireland, Alesund Norway, Kristiansand Norway, Aalborg Denmark, Bremerhaven Germany, Amsterdam Netherlands, Lisbon Portugal, Cartagena Spain, Greece, Catania Italy, Alexandria Egypt, Yeda Arabia Saudi, Qatar, India, Malaysia, Indonesia, Australia, New Zealand, Chile, and Peru.
